    apt-cache linux-headers-$(uname browser -r)

    linux-headers-5 .0.Kernel – common Linux headers 0-13 for version 5.0.0 on 64 SMP X86 i bit

Then run the following command to update the Linux headers:

    sudo apt-get use linux-headers-$(uname -r)

However, it still hangs while compiling/monitoring the virtual machine (VMware Kernel Module Update Tool).
Does anyone know how to solve this

    Maybe?

I click Install to see if VMware finds the correct package. If not, cancel and run this:

If you’re running VMWare Workstation or Player on a Linux host, you’ll probably need to (from time to time) recompile a few kernel modules, such as when someone updates or changes your kernel.

You’ll usually know when to do this if you have to bother loading a guest just annoyed that vmmon doesn’t exist.

On a 5.4 kernel machine, I had to rely on patched VMware modules using mkubecek tostart wmare workstation. It worked, but I had to recompile the modules after snowing each (i.e. running the above instructions after loading) each.

So I created a quick dirty and service system to do this for me on a regular basis, which automatically recompiles into modules after every shoe.

Create a service file by running systemd, /etc/systemd/system in your favorite editor (I’m using vim here):

When you’re done, reload the systemd modules, then activate the launcher you just created:

    1. How do I update my kernel module in VMware?

I have a package found by vmware-host-modules at https://github.com/mkubecek/vmware-host-modules. When you get there, click on the master branch and change it to VMware, the product the person has. Then follow the instructions in the INSTALL file. When it’s done, restart, just and it’s dshould work automatically.

      sudo apt-get put in linux-headers-$(uname -r) build-essential gcc-3.4

  • Where is kernel module located in Linux?

Linux. Loadable kernel modules in Linux are obviously loaded (and unloaded) with the modprobe command. They are located here in /lib/modules /usr/lib/modules or and have the extension . This kb (“kernel-object”) version 2. (the previous 6 versions already had the .o extension).

Run sbindir vmware-config.pl Answer (and as a result; it didn’t really run since 4 vmware.5. You need to specify the location with headers correct kernel-i .B ./usr /src /linux-uname although -r/, you need to advanceknow how much uname -r will return.) with
